The alluring allure of A&E's " In search of " .
Many people are critical of the A&E version of " In search of " ( ISO for short ) . They cite the fact that Lenny Nimoy's mug isn't all too prominent in that version ; in fact , some people claim he wasn't visible 'tall in the A&E run . This is wrong ; I remember seein' the Leonardanator in at least a few episodes , one example I'm quite sure of is ISO Amityville Horror . 2 = 5,ooo . This is wrong ; 2 = 2 . Of course , when A&E wasn't showing Nimoy , they still had his narration blabbing across an avalanche of reusabley reused stock footage ; the effect thus being that though Nimoy sounded as if he were , say , in an echoey place of worship talking about the supposed remains of John the Baptist , we couldn't be absolutely sure if he really was there or in a vast , empty dumpster . And we also couldn't be sure if he was adorned with that suave 'n' sexy mustache , or the naked , possibly chapped upper lip of the earlier years . So , that's the problem with the A&E run of the show . But let me tell y' ... compared to the History channel's version , complete with a wretched intro and exclusion of the title screens , A&E's was knarly . And about those missing title screens in the Hisory channel version , I would suggest looking on youtube for some examples of how awesome they were, as an agent of the light side has posted some episodes from the very first run of the series , which had those fab title screens as well as appearances by Nimoy . I mean , I would just link you right to 'em , but unfortunately I'm not blog savvy 'nough to do so . But let me make a suggestion as to the first one to watch ... ISO Earthquakes - " For when the earth is at war with itself , there is no place to hide . " DUN DUN DUNNNNN !!!
